A British man has been jailed for eight years for trying to sell fake erectile dysfunction drugs to his wife and then taking her to hospital.
The 26-year-old, who was arrested in 2013 on suspicion of sale of drugs containing Viagra, was jailed in Northamptonshire for eight years.
He pleaded guilty in February 2013 to a charge of first-degree cocaine addiction and one of sale of Viagra, a charge of attempting to sell drugs without prescription.
The other charge of first-degree Viagra addiction was dismissed in August 2013.
The court heard that in March 2013, he was prescribed and supplied with Viagra tablets for his wife, who also used the drug. He had agreed to take her to hospital after a four-hour hospital stay.
The court also heard that he had taken her to hospital in February 2014, but was not allowed to leave until May.
He admitted to being under the influence of alcohol and taking Viagra in a pharmacy as a result of the drug.
He was sentenced to four years on each of the four counts of possession of drugs with intent to sell, as well as three years for the possession of drugs with intent to consume.
